RainRoom by rAndom International

RainRoom offers an environment of perpetual rainfall that responds to the presence of its visitors. As soon as you approach the installation, a cocoon of dryness is created around you. This leaves you able to wander freely through different areas of the space, surrounded by falling water, and yet to remain completely dry. RainRoom allows the freedom to experience this unique environment; to be untouched by the rain falling all around you.

With wind gusts up to 60mph at some spots surrounding Lake Michigan, 25ft waves in open water, the blizzard of 2011 dropped around two feet of snow and blocked us from surfing anything for awhile. Larry Williams snapped this photo in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, his brother Lee saying “I’ve lived here all my life and have never seen da bergs get that high”. Looks like Wisconsin is land locked for some time.  Let’s pray for some warm weather eh?
